GSA in Print
Our own New York Team Captain, Kevin Trotta, appeared in the Feb. 23 issue of Athletic Turf online magazine. In “Earth Day Every Day”, Trotta calls on turf managers and sports enthusiasts everywhere to get off the bench and into the game of sustainability, and promotes GSA as one way to inspire that kind of initiative. Thanks, Kevin! |

GSA and STMA are teaming up to green the turf world.
STMA’s 2,500+ members manage sports fields and facilities at schools, parks and professional sports stadia across the United States, and they share GSA’s commitment to promoting good environmental stewardship in sports.
GSA and STMA have jointly issued guidelines for running a sustainable sporting event. These guidelines, co-authored by Jane Poynter and GSA-NY's Kevin Trotta (also an STMA member), are based on GSA-USA's Ecoflag Event Pledge. Check them out on STMA's Environmental Stewardship page.

Helping Earth by Helping Out, Part 2
This month, GSA is highlighting some more fun ways to put your skills to work for the world. If you have a week or two on your hands, consider a volunteer vacation. You can teach, build or coach sports in some of the world’s most beautiful places, and come away knowing you’ve made a difference in people’s lives. Or become a regular volunteer in your own backyard, through your local parks, nonprofits, or even GSA—we’re always looking for new event volunteers and Team Captains. |
